Every year, in the village of Marshfield, deep in the Cotswold Hills in the West of England, the locals celebrate Boxing Day by dressing up in costumes made from strips of old newspapers.

Marshfield lies in the Cotswolds just to the north of the city of Bath. Until the coming of the railways the town was prosperous as it lay on the main stagecoach route between Bristol and London.

The Mummers perform every year on New Year's Day, attracting a crowd from all over the West Country.
